Go Green, Go Lean! Quick Assessment Routines – My Quest For Simplicity

We are “required” to give written tests in P.E.  Personally, I’d rather stick a knife in a toaster than administer a written test to 50 kids, repeat this for 7 classes, and grade 650 papers each 9-week grading period (for those scoring at home that is 28.1 papers each day of the school year).  Thus, I have embarked on a daring assessment quest to GO GREEN (find paperless solutions) and GO LEAN (kids work out – not write out –answers).  Practical for teachers, fun for kids.  Yes, assessment is important, but it doesn’t have to hurt (unless you’re a super villain named Fat Cat, Sheriff Lazy Bones, Couch Potato All Rottón, or Princess Peer Pressure).
